All Foods Fit into a Healthy Lifestyle

Dear Friends,

Wishing you a Happy and Healthy 2021

Today, I have my dietitian hat on. As you know, I am equally passionate about nutrition and cooking. I am a firm believer that “Healthy and Tasty Foods Go Hand in Hand.”

The most common New Year’s resolutions include eating healthier. It’s a fact that eating well is one of life’s greatest pleasures. Numerous studies have found that taste always trumps nutrition. People want to eat healthful foods, but it must also taste good.

It’s simple, if it doesn’t taste good, you won’t eat it.

Satisfaction (Tripti

There is an Indian/Sanskrit word, tripti, which translates to satiety. When you roll your hands over your tummy, smack your lips, and smile – the meal was so satisfying. Once you eat a nourishing meal, you’re happy and content until the next meal. An Indian thali is very similar to the USDA’s MyPlate as they both provide a well-balanced meal that provides a variety of nutrients and is filling.

Indian Meal Plans

To help you enjoy delicious, nutritious, and satisfying meals, I have planned simple meal plans, see website. Start with the sample 500 calorie meals below; feel free to mix and match to your taste. Recipes and cooking videos are linked here.
