Dear Friends,

Jolie is coming to my house. I’m so excited. This is the first time we will meet in person, and I decided it’s a great time for you to meet Jolie too. Please join the Facebook Live event Chai & Chat with Jolie and Madhu with Q&A.

Thank you for following “Jolie Cooks With Madhu” Column. It has been a fun project for us; we both learned a lot. And you have been a big part of it.

So far, Jolie has cooked and shared 10 plus recipes. Jolie and I had decided that she will cook 20 varied recipes to master the art of Indian cooking, but I don’t think she’s going to stop. What do you think? Let’s find out on the Live chat. What did she learn? What was easy, what was challenging? What did she enjoy and so on…

SEND me your questions or ask during the Live event – what would you like to know from Jolie or me? The questions are for both of us.

Don’t have Facebook: No Worries

Facebook is not for everyone, I know. If you don’t have a Facebook account, just click on the link below on August 13th at 11:00 am CT to join.

If you have a Facebook account, please like my Facebook Page and follow the posts.

Just Believe

What is your favorite cliché? “One thing leads to another,” “Life has its own plans,” and “Things will come to you, Just Believe” are some of my recent mantras. The mantras help me calm down and focus on the task on hand.

“Jolie Cooks with Madhu” Project started with a simple email from Jolie, This is the first Indian recipe that I cooked and swooned over.” One thought led to another, and soon we were working together and sharing Jolie’s progress of Mastering the Art of Indian Cooking with you.

Thank you for all the emails and comments we have received on Jolie’s Column. Please keep them coming. Both Jolie and I are grateful for your support and encouragement.

Madhu’s Update: New Recipes and Videos

I hope you’re taking advantage of the last few weeks of summer. My summer has been packed with travels and family visitations. It was great, but I am ready for fall for things to slow down a bit. How about you?

In between all the fun and outings, I have been busy compiling some videos and recipes. As you know, you can find a number of recipes and videos on the website. Did you know that the website now has a Recipe Tab under Blog (hover over blog) with a search option to help you navigate the recipes?

Recipes

Here are a few recipes I recently added to the Recipe section on the website.

Tomato Rice (Tamatari Chawal)

Tomato Rice Demo and Interview: See live (now recorded) cooking demo on Sharon Palmers Instagram.

Cherry tomatoes give this rice dish an elegant appeal. Although you can make this dish with any tomatoes at any time of the year, choose cherry tomatoes, if available—a great dish to make in the summer when cherry tomatoes are in ample supply.

Curried Potatoes (Sukhe Aloo)

Children and adults alike will devour this dish, which is one of the most popular ways to prepare potatoes in India. These can be served either hot or cold with any meal. They are great for traveling and picnics too.

Videos

Here are a few new videos on YouTube.

Check out these videos on “Time Saving Tips” and shortcuts. These videos are on my YouTube channel for now. I will be sharing them on my website soon.

Freezing Ginger

Watch this 3-minute video and you too may always have ginger on hand. I buy ginger in bulk, chop it and freeze it.

Making Ghee:

Ghee or clarified butter is easy to make. Check this out.

Hope you can join Jolie and me on August 13th. (The event will be recorded and can be seen on Facebook anytime.)

Happy and Healthy Cooking!

Sincerely,
Madhu Gadia
